Notice of Opening of the Waiting List for Public Housing
Everglades Heights / Auburn Gardens / Roosevelt Glen

Broward County Housing Authority (BCHA) is accepting applications for Public Housing 3 bedroom units on July 9, 2012. A computer lottery process will randomly select 50 applications. From the 50 applications selected, eligible families will be added to a waiting list for:
EVERGLADES HEIGHTS APARTMENTS located at 2400 NW 22nd St, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311 consisting of three bedroom/two bath apartments
AUBURN GARDENS located at 3400 Auburn Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311 consisting of three bedroom/two bath apartments
ROOSEVELT GLEN located at NW 27th Lane, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311 consisting of 3 bedroom/2 bath single family homes
The waiting list for three bedroom apartments will be open on July 9, 2012 from 8:30 AM until 8:30 PM.
THE WAITING LIST IS NOW CLOSED.
Applications will only be available to be completed online on this website. If you do not have computer access at home, you may go to a public library or any other place where computers are available to access this website to complete the application.
Selected families must meet the following guidelines.

Applications will only be accepted when completed and submitted online

No telephone calls, walk-ins, mail-ins or drop-off applications will be accepted
- Only the 50 randomly selected applicants will be notified via mail of their placement on the waiting list

Only one application per family will be considered throughout the entire process. Any family that submits more than one application will be void
The following notice is required by Federal regulations, however, the preferences listed will not affect an applicant's selection or placement on the waiting list. BCHA has the following local preferences: A Working Family - where the head, spouse, co-head, or sole member is employed at least 20 hours per week ( a family whose head or spouse is 62 years of age or older or is disabled automatically qualifies for the Working Family preference); Victims of Domestic Violence.
